Helminthiasis of rabbits on the upland and lowland areas and the risk factors

Abstract Rabbits are a potential livestock commodity to supply quality meat with higher protein and lower fat cholesterol content than other meat. Helminthiasis is parasitic worm infection that has imposed economic loss involving some risk factors. This study aimed investigate the helminthiasis cases in both upland lowland areas, as well their factors on of rabbit farming. A total 192 samples was derived from Baturraden Kalibagor, Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia. The research engaged survey method purposive sampling. Data correlation between areas incidence were subjected chi square analysis. computed 2x2 contingency table analyzed Odds Ratio. result showed significant altitude an area (P<0.05). Regarding host, male 1.15 times risky female counterparts get infection. Meanwhile, environmental factors, such metal floor cage contribute 7.42 much wooden floor.
